Our Passion and Perspective

At the core of our team lies a shared passion for music, science, and technology, fueled by a collective drive for innovative musical composition. We view artistic creation not just as a form of expression, but as a fundamental human need for communication. To us, the idea of replacing artists with machines is akin to feeding a robot that simulates eating—a momentarily amusing but ultimately futile endeavour.

In AI-generated music, particularly the type that leans heavily on learning from existing datasets, we see limited scope for true artistic creativity. We believe that venturing beyond known tonal landscapes requires more than just algorithmic mimicry. Hence, we advocate for a fusion of machine learning with ab initio approaches as the next leap forward, enhancing creativity and enriching the depth of AI-crafted music.

Our project is an attempt to demonstrate that translating emotional nuances into polyphonic music is achievable, albeit through preliminary examples. Through our system, we turn prescribed tonal-affect landscapes into multi-track scores, bring them to life electronically, and share them through music videos on social media platforms. This endeavour is not just about algorithmic perfection but a pursuit of passion, where coding and video production meet musical artistry. Our driving is primarily the joy found in creation, collaboration, and our primary professions.
